Date: 04/02/2009

Categories: Security Technologies, Biometrics and Bioinformatics, Medical Devices, Display and Lighting Technologies, Environmental Technologies, Digital Media/Ambient Technologies, Specialist Computing

The KTP initiative offers you a chance to employ internal or external individuals for particular company projects of academic interest. It also allows recent graduates, at all levels, to enter industry and gain relevant experience on a contract basis.

This is a government funded initiative and offers businesses great savings and flexibility around projects, as well as linking academics into relevant industries where their knowledge is of great commercial value.

Dr Camelia Dijkstra of the OU will explain how this initiative can benefit your business, including:
What are KTPs, the periods available, & how they work for all parties;
How the funding works & the paperwork involved;
The benefits of KTPs for all parties;
How to apply;
What help is available from the Open University.

Her presentation will last an hour, then there will be a question and answer session, followed by a buffet lunch.
